April 10, 1994—McCosh 50 and two overflow auditoriums fill to hear Chaim Potok’s address to kick off Princeton’s celebration of Jewish Heritage Week.

April 11, 1958—By a vote of 74-19, the faculty approve splitting the Modern Language Department into two, the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures and the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures.

April 15, 1978—Students complete a 27-hour sit in at Nassau Hall to protest Princeton University’s economic ties to South African apartheid.

April 16, 1890—Student pledges to support the missionary work of John Forman of the Class of 1884 in India are now due.
