December 23, 1900—“The Famous Princeton College Hat” is advertised in the Daily Arkansas Gazette. It sells for $1.45 (about $55 in 2024 currency).
December 25, 1863—Lists of residents conscripted into the Union Army have been posted in town. Many students are included in the list. Those who claim the right to exemption (most students will not be exempt) will need to claim this right in person in Trenton within a few days.
December 26, 1948—After freezing rain storms and a blizzard, the campus has only sustained minor damage, but commuter trains are somewhat delayed.
December 28, 1932—Five recent Princeton graduates, including Jimmy Stewart ’32 and Joshua Logan ’31, are connected with a Broadway play making its debut tonight (“Goodbye Again”).
